PukkaBlast is a fully mobile business with our own blasting and spraying equipment. We cater for all types of blasting: sandblasting, gritblasting, shotblasting and spraying for the domestic and commercial market.
The process of blast cleaning involves the use of compressed air and an abrasive medium. The compressed air goes into a blast pot and pushes the abrasive from the blast pot down a hose and out of a nozzle, at very high speed. The type of abrasive used varies depending on the item to be blasted. Blast cleaning can be used to remove rust, dirt, paint and many other substances leaving a clean surface. Blasting is also ideally suited to giving a good etched finish for tanking preparation or floors. Following the blasting the surface would normally be painted, or some type of protective coating applied, particularly in relation to metal.
Within the blasting /Construction industry there are different grades of blasting:-
Sa 3 Blast-cleaning to visually clean (white) steel
Sa 2½ Very thorough blast-cleaning
Sa 2 Thorough blast-cleaning
Sa 1 Light blast-cleaning
